Review: Mario Badescu Kera Moisturizer

Like I mentioned in my Beauty Bay haul, I wanted a new moisturizer for my dry skin! I said I wanted to wait a few weeks before I wrote my blogpost about it, but I already noticed a difference after only a week, so kids, buckle up, here’s my review on the Kera Moisturizer!

Deeply hydrate skin with our moisture-intensive moisturizer, formulated with Isodecyl Salicylate (Keratoplast) and Lemongrass Extract to help encourage a more radiant complexion. Elastin and Oatmeal combine to smooth the look of wrinkles—leaving skin brighter, softer, and more youthful-looking. – Mario Badescu website

Backstory on my skin, in case you are new: I’ve got dry, dry, DRY skin and bonus: I’ve got rosacea as well, which gives me a lot of bumps and some pimples and a LOT of redness.

Now, this moisturizer is quite thin, which surprised me, as I expected it to be a bit thicker, as I’m used to thicker formulas. It does have a scent to it, it isn’t too bad, but I do notice it. It isn’t particularly bad, nor is it any good, it kind of smells earthy medicinal? Not sure how to describe it, haha! If you are sensitive to scents, try it out in store first to see if the scent bothers you!

I’m quite impressed with this product! It doesn’t give enough moister to my skin right now in winter on it’s own, but it works great with a good serum. I’m sure it’ll be enough on it’s own in summer! They do have a similar product in a more thicker consistency, which will probably be best for me in winter.
It does really soothe my skin!!  Even after the first application it reduced my redness so much! I still have my bumps, but the redness is a lot less and that’s my biggest issue with my skin. It feels a lot less painful and my skin feels a lot more soft. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m still red and I still have my bumps, but this is the first product that actually made a difference in my skin!
If you have rosacea I really recommend trying this product. It doesn’t miraculously “cure” it, but it does make it a lot better.

All in all, I’m really pleased with this moisturizer and I will probably try out the thicker formula as well, but I’m excited to see what it does for my skin in the long run!

Have you tried anything by Mario Badescu?
