Mid Year Book Freak Out Tag

Ok, I know I have written a lot about books lately, but I just read a lot ok. Lately I’ve been really demotivated and just feeling shitty and books were my friends. SO, today I’m going to do the Mid Year Book Freak Out Tag!

1. Best book you’ve read so far?
The first one I could think of was the Wicked Deep, and other than that the Ice Palace  and Thérèse Raquin. They are totally different books, but they stand out the most from all the books I’ve read so far this year!

2. Best sequel you’ve read so far?
I haven’t really read any sequels, other than Poirot… SO I guess that kind of answers it?

3. New release you haven’t read yet, but want to?
CITY OF GHOSTS BY VICTORIA SCHWAB. Oh my god I’m excited for that book you have no IDEA. Also, Dire King from the Jackaby series, I have waited a WHOLE YEAR for this book, all because I want it in paperback to fit my others instead of the hardback!!!

4. Most anticipated release of the second half of the year?
See answer above! 🙂

5. Biggest disappointment?
Unfortunately, there were quite a few books I was disappointed in…  to name a few: Goodnight Stories for Little Girls 2, the Thirty-Nine Steps, and Mark on the Wall and Other Short Fiction by Virginia Wolf.

6. Biggest surprise?
I’m going to be so boring omg, but the Ice Palace wasn’t what I was expecting, in a good way. Other than that, Death of the Cherwell really surprised by how much I enjoyed it!

7. Favourite new author?
I’m really interested to read more Oscar Wilde, Émile Zola and Mavis Doriel Hay.

8. Newest fictional crush?
Ehm… honestly, it’d be disturbing if I had any crushes with the amount of murder I keep on reading.

9. Newest favourite character?
I don’t have one, because I’m boring.

10. Book that made you cry?
the Ice Palace, Thérèse Raquin and Nooks and Crannies! I don’t cry a lot when I read books, except when it’s Little Women.

11. Book that made you happy?
Stories for Boys who Dare to be Different and that’s basically it because wow do I keep on reading books where people just die! Maybe recommend some happy books to me! 😉

12. Favourite book to movie adaptation you saw this year?
The only movies I’ve seen this year were disney movies and I’m not going to count Winnie-the-Pooh as my adaption as I haven’t read the books, so I’m going with tv show, and that most definitely is the Moonstone!

13. Most beautiful book you bought so far this year?
See me being boring again!
the Ice Palace

the House with Chicken Legs by Sophie Anderson
Franklin’s Flying Bookshop by Jen Campbell

This was a fun little way to be excited about books again! What were some of your favourites? And tell me, am I being too boring? :’)
