Review: the Body Shop Almond Milk & Honey Scrub

I love a good scrub. I love the feel of smoothness afterwards, but I like applying it too, it’s a treat to me! Unfortunately, I’ve been on antibiotics for 3 months now, and the doctor demanded me to be careful with my skin (no sun, no harsh chemicals, no harsh scrubs) so I went on the look out for a new scrub. I came across this gentle scrub for dry sensitive skin, so I tried it!

Smooth and soften sensitive skin with this delicate exfoliating cream scrub, designed to gently buff away dead skin cells and leave skin feeling soft. Enriched with organic almond milk from Spain and Community Trade honey from Ethiopia, Almond Milk & Honey is specially formulated for sensitive, dry skin. – the Body Shop UK website

I’m going to point out that this is one expensive scrub. I didn’t really mind (I got it on sale), I needed to be even more careful with my skin than normal, but using this is a daily scrub would be a pretty expensive party. This doesn’t take away from it’s overal performance, but it’s just a head’s up!

They aren’t joking when they call this a gentle scrub, it’s incredibly gentle and soft. It has really, teeny tiny flakes in it, I’m not entirely sure what these flakes are, but it’s really gentle. My skin feels incredibly soft afterwards because it’s a really thick, creamy consistency. I use this scrub to shave my legs, because after rubbing it into my skin, it’s a great shave cream!

However, it doesn’t really feel like it scrubs my skin. It just feels like a really good moisturizing shower gel with some particles in it, but my legs and arms don’t feel as great after using a “proper” scrub. My skin still feels bumpy and doesn’t look any different after using this one. It IS moisturizing, I can’t deny that, but it isn’t anything special, ESPECIALLY for the price. Such a shame!
