Review: theBalm Meet Matt(e) Hughes in Charming

theBalm is 100% my aesthetic. I love the 50s vibe it has and I’ve been dying to try these out, but never bit the bullet! A family friend was extremely kind and got me one of these as a present, because she’s amazing. So here I am, reviewing this liquid lipstick for you today!

Introducing a truly loyal long-lasting liquid lipstick—Meet Matt(e) Hughes. With eighteen dreamy shades to choose from, you can take your pick from this hopelessly devoted collection. This long-wearing formula has a comfortable matte finish with no commitment issues. These matte vanilla mint liquid lipsticks are stuck on you without feeling clingy! – theBalm Cosmetics website

I was a bit hesitant about the colour, it looks really nice and pink in the swatch, but it pulls a bit more brown on my lips. However, it does look really nice! It applies really nicely and easily, and it is really opaque. It isn’t as thick as most liquid lipsticks, which surprised me, as it felt more like a really thin lipgloss, without the stickiness. It does run a little bit easier because of it’s thin consistency, so it does take some getting used to it, but it’s nothing you can’t get the hang of!
It does have a heavy mint scent to it, so if you don’t like mint, be aware! I really enjoy the scent of it, but it doesn’t feel like a plumping lipgloss, so it won’t tingle your lips, no need to worry!

This liquid lipstick is definitely one of the most comfortable lipsticks I have ever worn. Even more comfortable than most tube lipsticks! It isn’t as long lasting as, for example, the Jouer liquid lipsticks, but it feels so comfortable, as if I not wearing any liquid lipstick at all! It won’t last you through greasy food, but it will get you through a work day, which is important for me personally.

I really recommend this lipstick! I will buy more colours, hopefully they are as great as this one. Have you tried anything by theBalm?
