Rapid Fire Book Tag

I felt like doing something else than writing reviews. I’m kind of bored of them! Sometimes I just want to write for the writing, not to take pictures and edit them and all those things. I love to write, I just don’t love to take pictures and swatches! So, today I’m going to do a tag like all the cool kids. Here we go!

E-Book or Physical Book?
Hands down physical books. Nothing against e-books, I just like to show off all the books I have read!

Paperback or Hardback?
I don’t mind either way, as long as the paperbacks are floppy.

Online or In-Store Book Shopping?
I might work in a bookstore, but I prefer online as I only read books in English and I don’t have an English bookstore near me! Also, nothing compares to Bookdepository prices… 😉

Trilogies or Series?
I’m more of a stand alone reader, but I guess as I am reading all of the Poirot books, I should say series?

Heroes or Villains?
Boring answer, but I guess heroes! I haven’t read a lot of books with villains as a main character, if any.

A book you want everyone to read?
If it isn’t the entire Poirot series, it should be the Moonstone by Wilkie Collins!

Recommend an underrated book?
As I read a lot of classics, I don’t think I’ve read an underrated book? I mean, classics are classics because they are loved! But if I really think about it, I would recommend everything by Lynn Peril.

The last book you finished?
Poirot’s Early Cases by Agatha Christie, a Poirot, what a surprise!

The Last Book You Bought?
I bought 4 books yesterday (oops), Thérèse Raquin by Émile Zola (by recommendation by one of my readers!), the Labours of Hercules and Dumb Witness by Agatha Christie and Betty Crocker’s Cookbook for Boys and Girls by Betty Crocker.

Weirdest Thing You’ve Used as a Bookmark?
I actually never use weird things as bookmarks, as I’m really careful with my books!

Used Books: Yes or No?
YesI have a lot of books that used to be my mum’s, but as I said, I don’t have a shop near me that sells English books, so I can’t really get them second hand!

Top Three Favourite Genres?
Classics, detective mystery and non-fiction historical!

Borrow or Buy?
Buy, I don’t like to borrow books as I forget about it and I’m a mood reader. Also, I like to show off the books I read!

Characters or Plot?
For me it’s the plot, I think.

Long or Short Books?
Short! I have a really hard time finishing big books (ahum Johnathan Strange ahum) so I prefer short books.

Long or Short Chapters?
I prefer short, as it makes it seem like you are reading a lot more than you are!

Name The First Three Books You Think Of…
Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls 2 by Elena Favilli and Francesca Cavallo
Nooks and Crannies by Jessica Lawson
Sad Cypresses by Agatha Christie

Books That Makes You Laugh or Cry?

Our World or Fictional Worlds?
I wanted to say fictional but when I think about it, I actually prefer to read our world, but in times gone by!

Audiobooks: Yes or No?
They aren’t for me unfortunately! I just don’t have the attention span to listen to audiobooks.

Do You Ever Judge a Book by its Cover?
Yes, and I’m not ashamed of it. When I really want to read a book I will go out of my way to get the most beautiful edition of it that I can get.

Book to Movie or Book to TV Adaptations?
Book to TV, I really liked the Moonstone adaption!

A Movie or TV-Show You Preferred to its Book?
I haven’t read the book, but Emma by Jane Austen. I tried to read Jane Austen multiple times, but I just hate her writing style. I love the BBC version of Emma and watched it many times, but will never read the book because it’s written by Jane Austen.

Series or Standalones?
I really like stand alone books, but I do like me a good series like Poirot!

So, I tried something new today! I hope you didn’t mind it too much, I really liked writing this and thinking about things I never really thought about!
