Review: Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow in Rose Gold Retro, Kitten Karma and Gold Goddess

I love me some glitter on my eyeballs. I love the dramatic and the sparkle. So, when Stila came out with these Magnificent Metals I HAD to try them! Today I’m going to talk about three colours, Kitten Karma (a champagne colour), Golden Goddess (a sheer gold) and Rose Gold Retro (a rose gold).

This brilliantly long-wearing sparkle eye shadow combines the perfect mix of pearl and glitter to lavish eyes with incredible luster and shimmer.  With its uniquely lightweight, water-infused texture, Glitter & Glow glides on effortlessly, then dries down smoothly, locking in maximum sparkle with minimal fallout, for eyes with a real “wow!” factor. – Stila website

The tubes aren’t really big, but you don’t need big ones as it isn’t something like a lipgloss, and only need a little amount. You apply these with a doe foot applicator that’s really soft and easy to use. They apply really easily, unlike some glitter liners or the like, and you don’t feel the glitter being applied. It’s incredibly comfortable to wear, it doesn’t dry down crusty, you don’t feel the individual glitter particles, and I haven’t noticed any build up or where it applies more thickly in some places. One dip is usually enough for both eyes!

Kitten Karma, Gold Goddess, Rose Gold Retro

Kitten Karma is my definite favourite and the first one I got. I love how it wears, because it’s so incredibly comfortable to wear!!! I can’t get over that, honestly, what I do have to say is that it does flake on me during the day. It will look really nice for the first few hours, but after a while it will fall on my cheeks. I’m wearing it in this picture (and yes I did crop out the other person because that person is my 15 year old cousin and PRIVACY!) as you can tell there are some glitter parts on my cheeks and underneath my eyes.

Golden Goddess is the next one, and that one is a sheer gold, and it’s definitely more sheer. Which bums me out a bit because I like some of that ol’ pizzazz . It just means I have to apply a bit more to get the look I want. I do feel like this one has more fall out than the other two, but that could be because I apply a lot more.

Rose Gold Retro looks a LOT like Kitten Karma, but is just a bit more pink. This one applies the most smoothly but just like the others, it’s comfortable to wear and you don’t feel it when you are actually wearing it. I’ve got nothing new to say about this one actually compared to the other two!

I’ve tried a lot of glitter stuff, like the NYX Glitter Liner, but as that one really hurt my eyes when it dries down, you really can’t feel this. If you want some glitter in your life, this is really perfect, and I think that even if you have more dry eyelids, this would be great. Even if you don’t want to wear this every day, it’s a perfect edition for your makeup collection!
