Review: NYX Cosmetics Butter Gloss in Strawberry Parfait

I don’t wear gloss very often, mostly because I’ve got a crooked tooth and it tends to get onto it. But, as the season of cracked lips is upon us, my matte lipsticks just won’t do the trick anymore, apart from doing that one trick where they look horrible because my lips will be dry and chapped. So, back to my trusty Butter Gloss lipglosses!

Buttery soft and silky smooth, our decadent Butter Gloss is now available in 12 more sumptuous shades! Each glossy color delivers sheer to medium coverage that melts onto your lips and is never sticky, leaving your lips soft, supple and kissable. – NYX Cosmetics website

There’s nothing new about these lipglosses, they have the same wands as normal lipglosses, they smell quite sweet, different depending on what shade you’ve got, and apply easily. But I love these glosses. They are so insanely smooth, they moisturize your lips like nobody’s business, and they have some nice colour pay off! This gloss is supposed to be a pink gloss, but it pulls more purple on me. It’s a nice gloss though, the colour doesn’t put me off, but if you have semi-pigmented lips (mine aren’t too pigmented, so if yours are be warned!) it will pull a different colour.

Exhibit A of my crooked tooth, but as you can tell it pulls a bit more purple! I don’t like wearing pink on my lips, but this one does look really good on me, if  I may say so myself.

As to wear… it wears just like any other gloss, not that long. I can wear this about 2 hours, including drinking, eating and talking, without losing too much of the gloss. It doesn’t wear off horribly either, it looks quite nice and natural, so nothing patchy or weird. Nothing as horrible as lip products wearing off weirdly!

Long story short, I love the butter glosses, and I really recommend you get some! This colour is really nice, but just be warned that it may pull a slightly different colour than you might think! And if you are sensitive to scents, or especially sweet ones, don’t get these. The scent does really linger and it is quite  sickly sweet, but if it doesn’t bother you, what are you waiting for? Get some!
