Review: Antipodes Divine Face Oil

I hate the winter. I hate it. Absolutely hate it. It’s cold, there’s snow and rain everywhere and my skin HURTS. I have extremely dry skin and it hurts at times, like it seriously starts bleeding painful. Moisterizer doesn’t do enough anymore around this time so I decided to try out some oils!

A nutrient-rich face oil for fresh, healthy skin. The superior collagen-boosting action of avocado oil helps reduce the appearance of lines, age spots and scars. Capture rosehip’s high levels of Vitamin A and C and essential fatty acids, plus its known ability to help reduce the appearance of scars and wrinkles.

Elements of Beauty: Avocado oil * Rosehip oil

Pure Plant Fragrance: Jasmine & sweet orange

Antipodes is an expensive, but very green brand. They try to be as natural as possible, which I gladly pay a little more for. I gladly pay a little bit more for skincare anyways. I’ve had an intense breakout on my cheeks, I’m not really sure what happened, I think it might be an allergic reaction to something. I used my Antipodes Hallelujah Cleanser in combination with this (and some other oils for hydration) and my breakout is almost completely gone! I tried so many things before using this one, and my stupid breakout didn’t move but now my skin is almost clear, and actually better than it was before. I have a lot of redness in my face, and it calmed it down really well.

Now, it doesn’t do much for hydration, which I mostly use oils for. I have to mix it with a different oil otherwise I wake up with a very flakey face. So, if you have extremely dry skin and want to try it, be warned of that!

You get about 30 mls of product, which doesn’t sound like a lot, but you only need a few drops for your entire face, which means it’ll last you a long time.
I can also tell you that it does help with scars. Like I said, my breakout was huge. Honestly, my entire cheek was covered in bump and lumps, it wasn’t really pimples, but I’m not sure what it was. It left a lot of scarring and you can’t even SEE that I had this breakout!

Now, as for the scent, it’s disgusting. This is so insanely gross and I hate the scent. On the plus side, my cats love the scent and sniff my face every night when I use it.

I think this oil is better for me in the summer than in the winter, because it doesn’t give me enough hydration. It’s a good oil, definitely worth it’s money,  and if you can handle a gross scent, I totally recommend you trying this out!
