Review: the Unbound by Victoria Schwab

I loved the Archived so much that I immediately ordered the second book in the series (?).
I adored the world, the characters and the story was really nice to read too, completely different to what I usually read.

Now, the synopsis of the Unbound:

Last summer, Mackenzie Bishop, a Keeper tasked with stopping violent Histories from escaping the Archive, almost lost her life to one. Now, as she starts her junior year at Hyde School, she’s struggling to get her life back. But moving on isn’t easy — not when her dreams are haunted by what happened. She knows the past is past, knows it cannot hurt her, but it feels so real, and when her nightmares begin to creep into her waking hours, she starts to wonder if she’s really safe.

Meanwhile, people are vanishing without a trace, and the only thing they seem to have in common is Mackenzie. She’s sure the Archive knows more than they are letting on, but before she can prove it, she becomes the prime suspect. And unless Mac can track down the real culprit, she’ll lose everything, not only her role as Keeper, but her memories, and even her life. Can Mackenzie untangle the mystery before she herself unravels?

It took me 4 days to finish this book. It was such a quick read and it is really a fun story. I got frustrated at times (“WHAT’S GOING ON!!! WHY DO BAD THINGS HAPPEN TO MAC!!!”) but oh gosh, please, just read this series, you can thank me later.

I’m not doing a good job at giving this a review, now am I?
I didn’t like the Unbound as much as the Archived, but it wasn’t bad at all.
Honestly, if you want to read something quick and easy, but with a fun story and likeable characters, please read this series. I can’t wait to see more from Mac and the others.

(Also, the 10th Doctor from Doctor Who also makes an appearance, sort of, so why wouldn’t you want to read it?! )

You can buy it here.
