Today we are going to talk about a drugstore product again, lately all I ‘ve been talking about is high end products, and we should switch it up sometimes, shouldn’t we? Today we are going to talk about one of the cheapest lipsticks available, and is it any good?
Essence was the brand I used when I first started out with makeup, mainly because it was (and still is) really cheap. I am of the opinion that more expensive are usually better, be it because of better ingredients for you and I find the quality usually better. Usually. And this lipstick definitely proves me wrong.
Now the packaging is really basic, but feels sturdy, it doesn’t feel cheap. The black does make it look a bit more chique. The lipstick itself is incredibly creamy but the finish is more matte, it does have a slight sheen to it, but the overall finish is matte.
It doesn’t feel drying at all, because it applies so creamy. I have no issue with emphasizing dry patches on my lips.
It does have a sweet scent to it!! It isn’t too overpowering, but just a head’s up if you are sensitive to it.
The colour is really nice, it’s a pink-ish red and it looks really nice.
The colour itself is quite opaque too, which surprised me about it, and it’s really pigmented. The staying power is meh, it stays on and it’ll last longer with a lipliner but it won’t stay on all day.It does leave a slight stain too, but not the nice kind where it still looks like you’ve got lipstick on, but the bad kind where it’s just patchy.
All in all, I’ve got nothing bad to say about this lipstick! This lipstick is amazing quality for a very low price, and really, you can’t go wrong with buying it!
